A courier built around healthcare, not a general parcel network

Most delivery companies treat a lab specimen the same way they treat a pizza coupon — as one more package on a route with a hundred other stops. TyVia does the opposite. Every run we make is a healthcare delivery, and every courier who carries a shipment for us has completed HIPAA awareness and bloodborne pathogens training before they ever pick up a package. That focus is what separates a medical courier from a same-day delivery app with a healthcare-sounding name.

We serve healthcare organizations throughout Whatcom and Skagit counties — from independent practices in Bellingham and Ferndale to laboratories and long-term care facilities in Mount Vernon, Burlington, Lynden, and Blaine. If your organization operates in Northwest Washington and needs something moved between healthcare locations, there is a good chance we already run near you.

How a pickup works

You can request a pickup online or call our office directly. Either way, we confirm the pickup address, destination, requested time window, and any special handling needs before a courier is dispatched — nothing is assumed. For clinics and labs that move shipments regularly, we can set up a recurring scheduled route so nobody on your team has to place a request each time (see our scheduled route service for details).

When the courier arrives, they verify the shipment against your reference number, confirm the outer packaging looks intact, and load it into a dedicated area of the vehicle. From that point until delivery, the shipment stays in the courier's direct control — it is not consolidated with unrelated freight or left in a shared drop-off bin.

Handling, delivery confirmation, and proof of delivery

At the destination, the courier hands the shipment to an appropriate recipient rather than leaving it unattended. Recipients confirm receipt by signing our delivery log, and that confirmation is recorded against your pickup's reference number so you have a record of when and to whom the item was delivered. If a signature cannot be obtained — for example, the destination is closed when the courier arrives — we contact your point of contact directly rather than leaving the shipment unsecured.

We are straightforward about what we do not yet publish as a capability: TyVia does not currently advertise electronic proof-of-delivery with digital signature capture, temperature-controlled transport, or guaranteed delivery-time windows. If your organization needs one of those specifically, call us and we will tell you plainly whether we can support it before you rely on it.

Packaging responsibility and service area

Shipments must be properly packaged, sealed, and labeled by the sending organization before pickup, in accordance with applicable requirements for the material being transported. Our couriers check the condition of outer packaging at pickup but do not package specimens or medications on your behalf.

TyVia's published service area covers Whatcom and Skagit counties: Bellingham, Blaine, Ferndale, and Lynden in Whatcom County, and Mount Vernon and Burlington in Skagit County. If your facility is near this area but not listed, contact us — we will tell you honestly whether we can extend service to your location.

Can we set up a recurring pickup instead of calling each time?

Yes. Many clinics and laboratories run a scheduled route with us. Request a quote with your locations and preferred pickup windows and we will propose a route plan.
