Who this service is for

  • Laboratories needing an urgent result that can't wait for the next scheduled run
  • Clinics with a time-critical specimen, medication, or piece of equipment
  • Pharmacies with an urgent medication delivery for a care facility
  • Any healthcare organization facing an unplanned, time-sensitive shipment

What TyVia transports

  • Urgent lab specimens that need to reach a laboratory outside the normal route schedule
  • Time-critical medications for a patient or facility that cannot wait for the next delivery window
  • Emergency equipment or supply transfers between facilities
  • Any healthcare shipment where the standard schedule doesn't fit the situation

A dedicated run, not a slot on someone else's route

STAT service means exactly that: the shipment travels as a direct, dedicated run from pickup to destination, rather than being worked into an existing scheduled route. That's the difference between STAT and standard service — a standard shipment may share a route with other stops; a STAT shipment goes straight where it needs to go.

STAT courier service is available throughout Whatcom and Skagit counties, including Bellingham, Ferndale, Lynden, Blaine, Mount Vernon, and Burlington, for organizations that already work with TyVia and for new requests where we can confirm a courier is available.

Call to confirm — don't assume from a form submission

For anything genuinely urgent, call TyVia directly so we can confirm a courier before you rely on the delivery. Submitting an online request is a fine way to provide details, but it does not by itself confirm that a STAT pickup is happening — confirmation comes from a direct conversation with our team, who can tell you honestly whether a courier is available and roughly when they'll arrive.

We do not publish a guaranteed response or delivery-time window for STAT service, because actual timing depends on distance and courier availability at the moment of the request. We'd rather confirm a realistic timeframe with you directly than advertise a promise we can't keep on every run.

Handling and delivery confirmation stay the same

Urgency changes how fast a shipment moves, not how it's handled. STAT shipments are packaged by your organization the same way as any other healthcare delivery, stay in the courier's direct control for the entire trip, and are handed to an appropriate recipient at the destination, who signs our delivery log to confirm receipt against your reference number.

After-hours and weekend STAT runs may be available by arrangement for organizations that need coverage outside our standard business hours — ask us in advance if your organization anticipates needing that kind of coverage regularly.

When to use STAT versus a scheduled route

If urgent requests are a regular part of your operation rather than an occasional exception, it's worth discussing a business account with standing STAT availability alongside your scheduled route. If today's situation is a one-off — a redrawn specimen, an unexpected equipment failure, a medication that has to move right now — call us and we'll handle it as a single urgent request.

Common questions

Answered directly — call (360) 383-5945 if you don't see what you need.

How fast is STAT delivery?

It depends on distance and courier availability at the time of the request. We confirm an expected timeframe directly with you rather than publishing a guarantee we can't meet on every run.

Should I fill out the online form or call for an urgent shipment?

Call TyVia for anything urgent. The online request form is useful as a follow-up or for providing details, but a phone call is the fastest way to confirm a courier.

Is STAT service available after hours?

It may be available by arrangement for organizations that need coverage outside standard business hours. Contact us in advance to discuss your needs.
